What to do if your phone dropped in water?

If your your mobile phone dropped in water or get wet in a heavy rain mistakenly. It is possible to save your wet mobile phone by quickly repairing it

In order to keep your mobile phone safe from water damage, you can consider some simple solutions. The Steps you should follow :

1. As soon as possible remove all the detachable parts like back cover, battery, SIM card, memory card etc.

2. Take a piece of cloth or a tissue paper to wipe the excess water you are able to see within the mobile phone.

3. Make sure that you dry it completely. If you don' t do this, the water inside the mobile phone will begin to evaporate and gather in places which will be difficult to reach.

4. Take a hairdryer and start drying the mobile phone while giving more consideration to the place where the battery is located.

5..Make sure that you are not holding the hairdryer very near to the mobile phone. Keeping it very close to the mobile phone may harm the electrical mechanism of the mobile phone.
Keep on drying the mobile phone after every 5-10 minutes of gap. repeat it for 5-6 time. if your mobile phone is too much wet then Take off the covers as well as battery from the mobile phone and  Put the mobile phone in a dry as well as warm place.....

Note : Be Careful While Using Hairdryer...

Enable virtual Wi-Fi on your PC

Windows 7 includes a little-known new feature called Virtual Wi-Fi, which effectively turns your PC or laptop into a software-based router.

What is Virtual Router?

Virtual Router is an open source software based router for PCs running Windows 7 and its freely available for users.
Through Virtual Router, users can share their internet connection with any Wi-Fi device (Laptop, Smart Phone, iPod Touch, Net book, wireless printer, etc.)
These devices connect to Virtual Router just like any other access point, and the connection is completely secured using WPA2 (the most secure wireless encryption.).
By using Virtual Router you can establish most secure wireless access point without any cost.

Features of Virtual Router Manager :
1.Added Installation Check for Windows 7 / 2008 R2 or later
2.Added ability to customize the icon displayed for a particular device / connected peer. To do this, either "double click" the connected peer, or "right click" and select "properties".http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
3.Added Network Name (SSID) and Password Field Validation. SSID can not be longer than 32 characters, and Password must be at least 8 characters and no more than 64 characters.
4.Persist SSID and Password across executions so that the user doesn't have to type it in every time.
5.The First time Virtual Router Manager is run the Password/Passphrase field is blank. This is to encourage users to enter their own password instead of just using the "default" value in an effort to help increase the overall security. This way there is no "default" password for hackers to try connecting with.

Note : Virtual Wi-Fi can be done without using any software but this is the simplest and secure way to create an Virtual Wi-Fi Router

These 10 tips are simple things you can do to make your laptop run faster.

1.Start with a disk cleanup. There are several ways to access this, but one is to click on the Start Program>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup. This will allow you to delete temporary Internet Files, Offline Files, the recycling bin, and other types of unnecessary files.

2.Through the Control Panel, go to Internet Tools and delete cookies and history. This can take several minutes if it hasn’t been done in awhile.

3.Disk Defragment. You can access this the same way as a disk
cleanup, but select disk defragmenter instead. Many programs allow you to schedule a time to do this application, as it can take several minutes or several hours depending on how much work is to be done.

4.Malware or Spyware are big offenders of slowing down laptops. Installing and running an anti-malware or anti-virus program and running it regularly will often times make a tremendous difference.

5.Check your power management by accessing the Control Panel. Select power management and then Maximum or Best Performance. If you use your battery pack rather than being plugged in it will drain quickly, but will give you optimal speed.

6.Check the memory usage of your computer. You may need to add more random access memory (RAM) to store memory, rather than using disk space that is slower in all cases.

7.New computers that use Windows Vista/7/8 can be slowed down by excess animation. It is possible to turn it off by going to the Control Panel>System and Maintenance>Performance Information and Tools>Advanced Tools. Then select Adjust the Appearance and Performance of Windows. The Performance Options box will prompt, and if you select Custom, then uncheck Animate Windows when Maximizing and Minimizing. You can consider other options as well, but this definitely pep it up.

8.Use an external hard drive to store all music, photos and games. It can be unplugged and used with multiple computers, and will save valuable space.

9.Consider using registry software cleaner or repair program. There are many good ones out there such as ccleaner.com or registryfix.com. These will identify and repair problems within the registry.

10.From the Control Panel, go to Add or Remove programs. Remove programs that you know you are not using. This can be a daunting task, since some programs affect others, and therefore you may want to know what’s important before you remove it.

How Google can made your life easy.

All of us have been using Google since like forever. Most of us have been using it for just as a search engine ( not to mention that even more than that, people use it check if they are connected to internet.. ). But what we people haven't realized is that with the growing technology Google has also upgraded itself a lot. Is not just a mere search engine, not any more.

Following are some really cool tricks to perform with Google to make your life easier..
1) Definitions

Find out the definition of any word by typing 'define' (without quotes) followed by the word you want the definition for. For example, typing: define geek would display the definition of the word geek.

2) Local search

Visit Google Local, enter the area you want to search and the keyword of the place you want to find. For example, typing: restaurant at the above link would display local restaurants.

3) Phone number lookup

Enter a full phone number with area code to display the name and address associated with that phone number.

4) Find weather and movies

Type 'movies' or 'weather' followed by the zipcode or city and state would display the current weather conditions or movie theaters in that area. For example, typing weather 84101 gives you the current weather conditions for Salt Lake City, UT and the next four days. Typing movies 84101 would give you a link for show times for movies in that area.

5) Track airline flight and packages

Enter the airline and flight number to display the status of an airline flight and it's arrival time. For example, type: delta 123 to display this flight information if available.

Google can also give a direct link to package tracking information if you enter a UPS, FedEx or USPS tracking number.

6) Translate

Translate text, a full web page, or search by using the Google Language Tools.

7) Pages linked to you

See what other web pages are linking to your website or blog by typing link: followed by your URL. For example, typing link:http://www.example.com/ displays all pages linking to Computer Hope.

8) Find PDF results only

Add fileType: to your search to display results that only match a certain file type. For example, if you wanted to display PDF results only type: "dell xps" fileType:pdf -- this is a great way to find online manuals.

9) Calculator

Use the Google Search engine as a calculator by typing a math problem in the search. For example, typing: 100 + 200 would display results as 300.

10) Stocks

Quickly get to a stock quote price, chart, and related links by typing the stock symbol in Google. For example, typing: msft will display the stock information for Microsoft.

How to chat through LAN using command prompt?

Today I'm gonna tell you how you can chat with your friends, connected in LAN, using Command Prompt in Windows OS. These means you don't need to have any third party software or messenger installed on your system.

I'll also tell how you can create your own simple Chat Messenger.

First lets see how you can chat through Command Prompt. Just follow the below steps:

1)  Open Command Prompt. (Press Win+R and then type 'cmd' without quotes).
2)  Now type:

     msg <IP address> <actual message>           - For Windows7
     net send <IP address> <actual message>    - For WindowsXP

Here, instead of IP address you can put asterisk (*), then the message will be send to all those who are connected with you on the LAN. See the snapshots below for better understanding.

Now lets see how to create your own Chat Messenger. Follow the below mentioned steps:

1)  Open Notepad
2)  Copy the following code into it

      @echo off
      :start
      Cls
      echo MESSENGER
      set /p n=IP:
      set /p m=Message:
msg %n% %m%                       ( If using WinXP replace 'msg' with 'net send' )
      Pause
      Goto start

 3) Save the file with .bat extension.

Done!!

Now, open the .bat file and you'll see the following appear in command prompt.

MESSENGER
IP:  < Here type the IP address of the computer you want to contact or put asterisk(*) >
Message:  <Type your message here>

Finally, it should look like this:
IP: ***.***.***.***
Message: Xas Message.

How to Create a Bootable Pendrive??

Hello Friends, today I am going to tell you how you can make your USB/pendrive Bootable and use it to boot the OS from it instead of a CD/DVD. Note that this is to ‘boot the OS from USB drive’ and not ‘Install an OS using a USB drive’.

We are going to use a software called ‘UNetbootin’ for this purpose. You can get it from http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

Advantages:

1)    You can create bootable Live USB drives for different OS (Ubuntu, Fedora, or any other flavour of LINUX, and Windows.)

2)    No need to install the new OS on your system.

3)    Works on Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7, Linux, Mac OS.

4)    You can either let UNetbootin download one of the many supported os that you don’t have or even you can boot the image of iso file that already you have!!

Here’s what you gotta do..
1)    Download the UNetbootin software according to your OS from http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
2)    If you want to try different operating systems of linux platform, You can try different distributions available here.
3)    If you already  have an iso of an  OS or your preferred distribution isn't on the list. you can browse and select the disk image of OS which you already have.
4)    After selecting click ok.
It will extract and copy files after that bootloader will be installed.
5)    After completion of installation you need to reboot the system.
6)    Now you need to change boot priority or boot option. You can do this by pressing F10 ( or F8 or F12 depending on the system) at the boot to enter into the setup and select to boot from the USB Drive. Now, reboot and you are done.

Laptop Monitor Won't Come On

Since laptop computers are permanently connected to their LCD displays, a malfunctioning screen can make it very difficult to use your computer at all. In many cases, PC users experience a problem in which their screen will not come on after entering standby or hibernation mode. Other times, a laptop's internal parts will start up properly but the screen remains black. You can troubleshoot these types of issues to narrow down the source of the screen problem

Instructions
1. Press several keys on your laptop's keyboard to try to wake up your machine from standby or hibernation mode. Be aware that some laptops may take up to a minute to come on after being in standby or hibernation mode.

2. Use the "Fn" key with the up arrow key to increase the screen's contrast. Your laptop monitor may appear to be malfunctioning if the contrast level was accidentally turned down too low.

3. Hold down the laptop's power button for five seconds to force the machine to shut down.

4. Unplug all cables, including the power adapter, and remove the battery. Then, wait 10 minutes and reconnect the battery and the power adapter.

5. Press the power button and wait for the laptop to boot. If you can hear the internal components of the laptop warming up, you can isolate the problem to the monitor.

6. Connect your laptop to an external monitor using a VGA cable if the laptop's screen is still not working. You may need to reboot the computer again in order for it to recognize the external monitor.

7. Open the Start menu, right-click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties."

8. Go to the "Hardware" tab and click on the "Device Manager" button.

9. Double-click on your monitor from the list of hardware devices and select the "Update Driver" option in the pop-up window. In many cases, updating your graphics driver will resolve issues with monitors not working properly.

10. Contact your laptop's manufacturer if the monitor will still not display anything, because the problem is likely a broken inverter. As long as your machine is under warranty, the manufacturer will repair the problem.

Or
Try following method to get rid of Black screen problem.
1) TAKE OUT YOUR LAPTOP BATTERY
2) REMOVE YOUR AC ADAPTER CORD, that's the wall power, remove it.
3) NOW HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR 30 SECONDS

That will drain any static electricity that has built up on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of a black screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power and hit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up.
