How to chat through LAN using command prompt?

Today I'm gonna tell you how you can chat with your friends, connected in LAN, using Command Prompt in Windows OS. These means you don't need to have any third party software or messenger installed on your system.

I'll also tell how you can create your own simple Chat Messenger.

First lets see how you can chat through Command Prompt. Just follow the below steps:

1)  Open Command Prompt. (Press Win+R and then type 'cmd' without quotes).
2)  Now type:

     msg <IP address> <actual message>           - For Windows7
     net send <IP address> <actual message>    - For WindowsXP

Here, instead of IP address you can put asterisk (*), then the message will be send to all those who are connected with you on the LAN. See the snapshots below for better understanding.




Now lets see how to create your own Chat Messenger. Follow the below mentioned steps:

1)  Open Notepad
2)  Copy the following code into it

      @echo off
      :start
      Cls
      echo MESSENGER
      set /p n=IP:
      set /p m=Message:
      msg %n% %m%                       ( If using WinXP replace 'msg' with 'net send' )
      Pause
      Goto start

 3) Save the file with .bat extension.

Done!!

Now, open the .bat file and you'll see the following appear in command prompt.

MESSENGER
IP:  < Here type the IP address of the computer you want to contact or put asterisk(*) >
Message:  <Type your message here>

Finally, it should look like this:
IP: ***.***.***.***
Message: Xas Message.

How to Create a Bootable Pendrive??

Hello Friends, today I am going to tell you how you can make your USB/pendrive Bootable and use it to boot the OS from it instead of a CD/DVD. Note that this is to ‘boot the OS from USB drive’ and not ‘Install an OS using a USB drive’.

We are going to use a software called ‘UNetbootin’ for this purpose. You can get it from http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

Advantages:

1)    You can create bootable Live USB drives for different OS (Ubuntu, Fedora, or any other flavour of LINUX, and Windows.)

2)    No need to install the new OS on your system.

3)    Works on Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7, Linux, Mac OS.

4)    You can either let UNetbootin download one of the many supported os that you don’t have or even you can boot the image of iso file that already you have!!

Here’s what you gotta do..
1)    Download the UNetbootin software according to your OS from http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
2)    If you want to try different operating systems of linux platform, You can try different distributions available here.
3)    If you already  have an iso of an  OS or your preferred distribution isn't on the list. you can browse and select the disk image of OS which you already have.
4)    After selecting click ok.
It will extract and copy files after that bootloader will be installed.
5)    After completion of installation you need to reboot the system.
6)    Now you need to change boot priority or boot option. You can do this by pressing F10 ( or F8 or F12 depending on the system) at the boot to enter into the setup and select to boot from the USB Drive. Now, reboot and you are done.

Laptop Monitor Won't Come On

Since laptop computers are permanently connected to their LCD displays, a malfunctioning screen can make it very difficult to use your computer at all. In many cases, PC users experience a problem in which their screen will not come on after entering standby or hibernation mode. Other times, a laptop's internal parts will start up properly but the screen remains black. You can troubleshoot these types of issues to narrow down the source of the screen problem

Instructions
1. Press several keys on your laptop's keyboard to try to wake up your machine from standby or hibernation mode. Be aware that some laptops may take up to a minute to come on after being in standby or hibernation mode.

2. Use the "Fn" key with the up arrow key to increase the screen's contrast. Your laptop monitor may appear to be malfunctioning if the contrast level was accidentally turned down too low.

3. Hold down the laptop's power button for five seconds to force the machine to shut down.

4. Unplug all cables, including the power adapter, and remove the battery. Then, wait 10 minutes and reconnect the battery and the power adapter.

5. Press the power button and wait for the laptop to boot. If you can hear the internal components of the laptop warming up, you can isolate the problem to the monitor.

6. Connect your laptop to an external monitor using a VGA cable if the laptop's screen is still not working. You may need to reboot the computer again in order for it to recognize the external monitor.

7. Open the Start menu, right-click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties."

8. Go to the "Hardware" tab and click on the "Device Manager" button.

9. Double-click on your monitor from the list of hardware devices and select the "Update Driver" option in the pop-up window. In many cases, updating your graphics driver will resolve issues with monitors not working properly.

10. Contact your laptop's manufacturer if the monitor will still not display anything, because the problem is likely a broken inverter. As long as your machine is under warranty, the manufacturer will repair the problem.

Try following method to get rid of Black screen problem.

1) TAKE OUT YOUR LAPTOP BATTERY 

2) REMOVE YOUR AC ADAPTER CORD, that's the wall power, remove it. 

3) NOW HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR 30 SECONDS

That will drain any static electricity that has built up on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of a black screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power and hit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up.

It Dangerous to sleep with a Cell Phone under Your Pillow:

Most experts agree with the warnings to avoid sleeping with a cell phone under your pillow.
The “under the pillow” angle of cell phone radiation is just a subset of a larger discussion on the topic of cellphone radiation in general.
Though there is some evidence to support harmful effects of cell phone use on the brain, the jury is out on brain cancer or brain tumors and cell phone use.

 Ways to Reduce Cell Phone Radiation:- While the debate rages, many people prefer to err on the side of caution and try to minimize their cell phone radiation exposure.
Such steps include:
1. Keeping cell phone several feet away while sleeping.
2. Using speaker instead of talking directly into the handset.
3. Text instead of talking
4. Use headphones or Bluetooth connectors.
5. If you are using your phone at night for its clock or alarm features, consider putting it in “airplane
mode” which suspends the phone’s transmission functions.
